This is one of two identical furnaces that were supplied for tempering front and rear axles for Land Rover™ and were installed in the same pit that we constructed in the eighties along with a Gas-Carburiser that we also supplied.Like the carburising furnace, the lid is lifted by a davit arm that runs up the back of the furnace; this is lifted with a hydraulic cylinder.
