Sealed Quench Furnace

A Sealed Quench Furnace has a furnace chamber directly behind a quench tank. A controlled atmosphere can be held in both chambers, which allows the load to be moved between the heating cycle to the quench operation without coming into contact with oxidising air.

This piece of plant was used primarily for Gas Carburising, and could also be used for normal hardening and slow cooling under protective atmosphere. The heating chamber can also be loaded/unloaded whilst a batch is being quenched.

This was shipped to Saudi Arabia in the same crate as its companion tempering furnace.
