Rotary Hearth Furnace

This furnace was exported to Switzerland for treating replacement hip joints.

The furnace operated at 11000c under a protective atmosphere and is heated using electric tape elements. The rotary hearth is driven by a geared motor and rotates on an industrial thrust race of our own specification.

The furnace body can be lifted to an elevated position clear of the hearth and located on four sliding poles (one on each of the corners) which automatically lock into position. This makes the maintenance access to the hearth a one-man job.
