Rotary Brazing Furnace |

This Brazing furnace was designed to braze trumpet valve assemblies. It was designed with a heating segment and a water-cooled section all built into the same rotation; and unlike most rotary furnaces it had separate doors for loading and unloading. The main casing was also gas tight to hold a controlled atmosphere, and both doors were fitted with flame curtains. This furnace operated at 6000c, and was no more than 1400mm across. An equivalent conveyor furnace would have been 4.5 metres long, and would have required considerably more power and maintenance. |
